During the holy Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage, a special free health check-up camp was organized to ensure the wellbeing of Warkaris (pilgrims). A total of 232 individuals benefited from health consultations, basic diagnostics, and medical guidance. The initiative received strong support from police personnel and home guards, who worked tirelessly to maintain order, spread awareness, and encourage participation in the health drive.
The event highlighted the importance of community service during mass gatherings. Pilgrims often walk long distances under difficult conditions, making access to timely healthcare critical. By partnering with local healthcare teams and law enforcement, the program ensured that devotees remained healthy, safe, and cared for throughout the Wari.
The health camp included blood pressure checks, sugar level monitoring, general medical examinations, and distribution of basic medicines. Volunteers also conducted awareness sessions on hydration, nutrition, and preventive care, ensuring that pilgrims could continue their spiritual journey safely.
This initiative stands as an example of collective responsibility — where administration, police, healthcare workers, and citizens come together to support a tradition that carries both spiritual and cultural significance. The effort was well-received by devotees, with many expressing gratitude for the timely medical assistance.
GK Foundation Pune acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of all contributors — especially the police and home guards — for extending their service beyond duty, ensuring that devotion and health go hand in hand during this sacred journey.
